Kurt Wendell (Jonathan Hansler) has had a terrible time of it lately. His wife Steph (Andrea Gordon) has been having an affair with his boss. Kurt has just been axed, or fired by his boss. In retaliation, Kurt has premeditated a little family outing where the guest of honor, his former boss, is already tied up. Unfortunately for his wife, daughter Megan (Nicola Posener), and horribly effete son Jay (Christopher Rithin), they are about to be axed as well, only with a real axe and not some lame vernacular terminology.
Kurt is in a horrible state. Cuckolded by Steph, fired by his boss for being a good employee, disapproving of his spoiled and ignorant daughter Megan, and disgraced by his ladylike weakling son Jay, Kurt is on the verge of exploding. Being a meticulous planner at work has allowed this nascent madman to exploit this talent for punctuality to its limit. He convinces the whole family to join him on an excursion into the woods to be spontaneous. Everyone is relieved to skip work or school or screwing the boss. Imagine their horror when they find a dank cabin with a man tied up and half beaten to death as their welcoming committee.
Kurt's plan is to cause the miserable, worthless boss to suffer as much as possible and then to wreak havoc on his family. Not all of his actions are as horrible as they may read. Frankly, most of the characters deserve some kind of punishment, certainly not death or dismemberment but maybe divorce or a lesson in how to be a decent human being. But alas, Kurt has lost it and the rest is rather predictable.
Frankly, this time of a breakdown can happen to anyone. Credit Ryan Lee Driscoll's Axed for showing movie fans how easy it is for a man to snap once he has lost his job, manhood and self-respect. We here in America live in the worst poverty this country has ever known. Our very own president is doing a lot about it such as campaigning and calling anybody that disagrees with him someone that hates the environment, the elderly, or the poor. Being unemployed is worse than awful for self-respecting people. Being cuckolded is equally as horrid though in a more emotional and visceral way. Though nobody advocates violence against others Axed 2012 is a portrayal of what really can occur when a man has been pushed too far. Thank god this almost never happens.
