This The Dictator review need not alarm anyone considering renting or purchasing the DVD. Surely there must be some redeeming part of this picture. What or where that slice of redemption is I have no freaking idea. It seems that the entire world collectively cringed when The Dictator trailer arrived in theaters but our curiosity was totally aroused. Even John C. Reilly's role is boring and absurd in a negative way. When a film is purported to cause a stir and to be so outrageous as to be banned from several countries, surely it must make a serious argument or be funny. The Dictator is a whole lot of nothing packaged into a calculating trailer designed to fleece moviegoers out of the price of admission. Really, I enjoy Sacha Baron Cohen's work. This is the first time I have ever found it to be flat lining. Oh well, I am sure that in time he will write something better. Honestly, anything would be better than this movie.
