What can we say about the hottest and arguably most talented actress to star in any action movie in 2007? Hello Milla :)
Hollywood’s Elite Football Movies: The Most HILARIOUS review of 2007, a must read.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday Everyone!!!
One would think that National Treasure: Book of Secrets would be a flawless, or at least an enjoyable sequel to its predecessor. The cast is back and Nicolas Cage almost never fails to deliver a special performance. With a higher budget and the backing of Disney, and an end of the year release date, one might be fooled into believing this to be the movie event of the season.
I would like to touch on the upcoming Rambo movie for just a moment. Now look, no one thought Rocky Balboa would do well and it wound up making 70 Million with some critical acclaim mixed in as well. So, who’s to say that the "new" Rambo won’t do as well? I’m not going to pass judgment without at least seeing it but I will use this quote from Mr. Stallone to Access Hollywood as, well maybe a sign of sorts, "There were a lot of people trying to dissuade us from doing it - there were a lot of threats to myself and the crew,". Ok, so the context was about the locals and the intense fighting going on near the Thailand border where they were filming, but who’s to say the translator didn’t take a few liberties?
It took the release of the box set for me to see all three of the Bourne movies and I’m glad I did. It allowed me to watch all of them without having to wait over 5 more years to do so.
Reading the title of this review, you might assume that I have a plan to get into the cute, sweet story of a boy who just wants to dance, and the headstrong preacher man who is doing his best to crush that dream. That, of course, is my obligatory Footloose reference which is technically required whenever anyone mentions Kevin Bacon’s name in conjunction with anything having to do with the film industry...
Aaron Eckhart, Ian McKellen, Michael Moriarty William Hurt, Brittany Murphy, Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange, Alan Cumming...Do any of those names ring a bell? What if I were to tell you that all of the aforementioned actors could be found in one film? I promise you that it is a film that you have quite possibly never heard of and would never have heard of if not for this review!
Lords of Dogtown is the Hollywood version of Dogtown and Z-Boys, They both are the story of how the modern skateboarding boom began in 1975 Venice. When surfers took their wave riding style to the streets it became a 70's skateboarding rise-and-fall tale. The entire team along with main team Zephyr skaters: Tony Alva (Victor Rasuk), Jay Adams (Emile Hirsch) and Peralta (John Robinson), are thrust from the neighborhood street riders into superstars with endorsement deals. Success begot the heartache of a team separated by greedy outsiders.
Sylvester Stallone is a conservative politically, but this does not preclude him from being a testosterone filled maniacal director of insanely grotesque blood-fest films. Rambo is the cleverest film of 2008, and may not be unseated for months to come.
