Dungeons and Dragons: The Book of Vile Darkness

User Rating:  / 3
PoorBest

The Book of Vile Darkness purports to be an original story that continues the franchise's supposed glory and purity. Lamentably, screenwriter Brian Rudnick seems to have plagiarized equal proportions Excalibur and Lord of the Rings right down to the pulling of an artifact from a stone. There is nothing novel for casual movie lovers to marvel at, nor are there any mystifying special effects save Meagan Good herself. The primary villain, Nhagruul has disciples and acolytes that worship his cause. Scary with a capital S.

This Dungeons and Dragons movie might capture devotees of the genre with the proverbial hook line, but that does not change the obvious fact that the picture is a s(t)inker. Choose another film and do not waste your time expressing outrage over the feebleness of this Sci-Fi Channel worthy production.
