Much of the movie Jack and Diane is nothing more than inane dialogue between two confused and conflicted youths. Yet, their struggles tell a much larger story; the story of lesbians around the world that need to express themselves in their own unique manner without letting societal protocols interfere. Jack and Diane the movie offers insight into the thoughts, feelings, and development of female relationships. Perhaps there are clues there for those of us that are heteros.

The Jack and Diane movie by Magnolia Pictures presents images of shaving, kissing, vomiting, dancing, emotional tantrums, and so much more. As aforedescribed, the movie's real brilliance is its unconventional approach to love. Jack and Diane find a way to communicate with one another despite the obstacles they both face. Perhaps the only really obfuscating part of the film is the manner in which these two lovebirds met. Aside from that, I give the Jack and Diane movie two masculine thumbs up for telling a truth that I had previously not seriously considered.
