September has been the worst month for new movie releases I can remember in my entire life. It is no wonder that two movies released 3 weeks ago topped the box office earnings this weekend (The Final Destination and Inglorious Basterds). The cast for the A Team is coming together as Rampage Jackson has signed on as B.A. I had hoped to resurrect Mr. T. but he had too much pity for fools. Perhaps Kimbo Slice but he has gone all reality on us. Warner Bros is working on a film entitled Akira, a graphic novel adapted to the big screen and produced by the creators of Children of Men.
After failing miserably to do anything but nauseate audiences into hating the entire Halloween series, Rob Zombie is out. The director of My Bloody Valentine 3D is in. What does this mean for fans? A bloody Halloween movie in 3D and one that focuses on entertaining us rather than bringing LSD murder hallucinations to our movie screens. There will ne a Children of the Corn horror remake. I recommended the title Kids of Ethanol, but the Green movement told me I am too political. On the horizon is the film The Road starring Robert Duvall and Viggo Mortensen. The novel by Cormac McCarthy is stunning and gripping in every way. With an expert cast and positive reviews we all have something special to look forward to.
Almost everybody loves Seth Rogen, but can you believe his meteoric rise? He is now the Green Hornet opposite Cameron Diaz. When did that happen? He is all the buzz (pun intended) in Hollywood. Here is hoping the sting of his godawful role will not impact his future classic performances. Rumour has it that Tom Cruise is being rejected all over town. No studio wants his declining box office numbers, high price tag, and religious baggage. But they are willing to make Seth Rogen a super hero? Only in Tinsel Town ladies and gentlemen. Check back later this week for more movie news. You have been spotlighted!
