Tron Legacy: This is a no brainer. The contest is over. Tron’s 3D effects and heartwarming storyline, 28 years in the making, in large part defined the enormity of cinema in 2010.

127 Hours: James Franco, greatness be thy name. With Danny Boyle at the helm, Aron Ralston’s grueling tale of survival against all odds comes to life dramatically.

The Tourist: True to her talent, Angelina Jolie steals the show here. Her elegance and pizzazz make this a lovely picture to remember.

The Extra Man: This choice will strike many people as strange. For my money, Kevin Kline is one of the most underrated actors of all time. He puts on a showcase deserving of high praise.

MacGruber: MacGruber has brought comedy back to America. Although I would never argue Will Forte deserves an Oscar, he sure has won over our pulmonary systems. He may be funnier than Dana Carvey ever was.

Get Him to the Greek: Russell Brand is truly a madman. They say all great men have a few loose screws. As Aldous Snow he takes us on an epic journey through love, misery, regret and severe bodily injury. Count me in for the sequel.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps: Michael Douglas is fabulous in this sequel. Every time old Gordon Gekko appears on camera I cannot help but to scream “Oscar” in my mind. If only Shia LaBeouf would learn how to act…

The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest: I have written it before and I will do so again, “Stieg Larsson’s death was a tragedy for the literary community.” Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist are brilliant in the trilogy’s exciting finale.

Mao’s Last Dancer: The union of ballet and Cold War politics is a masterstroke. Based on the autobiographical account of Li Cunxin, Mao’s Last Dancer is a beautifully written and wonderfully performed story.

Morning Glory: I am not ashamed to admit that I adore Rachel McAdams. She is magic on screen and sexy to boot! Adding Harrison Ford into the mix is never a bad idea. He adds the gravitas, she adds the sex appeal, and away we go.
