Detective Callahan's encounters in the present cause him to relive an unfortunate time in his life. Officer Down (2013 Movie) commences with the detective chasing down another crooked cop that is culpable of rape. Instead of nailing his buns to the wall, the police department chooses to let the case remain concealed so as to not cause the district any scandalous publicity. Soon thereafter, a patron of a gentleman's establishment is found to be abusing, stalking, and harming young ladies. Investigating this man causes Detective Callahan to encounter criminal and seedy associates from his past as an alcoholic lothario (playboy) of sorts. As the picture unfolds, Callahan confronts his demons and meets vis a vis the man responsible for shooting him in the abdomen during a "routine" pull-over. The road to redemption is never without its pitfalls and perils. Will Detective Callahan fall by the primrose wayside or continue to redeem his life as a man driven by a sense of righteousness and decency?

Officer Down (2013 Movie) moves slower than a CSX transport on dilapidated tracks. Stephen Dorff is the lone beacon in this picture. Everyone else serves the purpose of being filler for the cameras. The actress that plays Detective Callahan's wife spends the majority of her time on camera lying on her side in bed waiting for her husband to arrive. The actors and actresses associated with the department and with the strip club are saliently boring. The plot is never suspenseful and in fact any hint of action is not to be found. Officer Down (2013 Movie) is more like a movie down, because it is Dorff aside, a poor excuse for a police drama.
