Those of you that are unfamiliar with Ayn Rand's work might wish to consider reading a book every once in a while rather than believing every nasty tidbit media outlets provide about their enemies while disguising their reports as news. News has never been as subjective as it is at this very moment. At the Ayn Rand preschool young Maggie is given a mechanical brain test and it is determined that she is average. As such she is thrown into a classroom with the below average students that are rather Hobbesian, nasty, poor, brutish and short. There is no adult supervision (no government regulations) and it is every last girl and boy for himself (laissez-faire capitalism). In the upper echelon classroom the youngsters are playing the violin and experimenting with laboratory equipment. In Maggie's room there are several dangerous nemeses waiting to stifle her progress (denying evolution) and she spends the entire day trying to save a butterfly, previously a cocoon.
This Simpsons film short, The Longest Daycare is humorously titled but at heart it is anything but funny. Though we cannot shield children from the harsh realities of life, how about rescuing them from repeated attempts at political messaging designed to cause underdeveloped youths to think ideologically? If you think I am overreacting watch the film more than once, look for the absence of adults, notice the segregation of classrooms, the attempts of idiots to prevent evolution from occurring, and then think about the name of the school. The Simpsons and their writers have a storied history of espousing liberal ideology. Would it were that Ayn Rand were alive today, at least somebody would have the courage to speak her mind about brainwashing children at the movies. Put plainly, this Simpsons film, The Longest Daycare, literally stinks.
