Bambi and Bambi II Blu-ray and DVD

The finale of Bambi made us privy to the tragic death of Bambi's (Alexander Gould) mother. In her absence, Bambi's father The Great Prince (Patrick Stewart) has promised the Owl (Keith Ferguson) he will raise the little prince for at least one year until he is more mature and self-reliant. Fortunately, Bambi's pals have returned to support, entertain and comfort him. Thumper (Brendon Baerg), his multitide of sisters, Flower (Nicky Jones), and Faline (Andrea Bowen) are causing a sweet raucous as usual. Wonderfully, Bambi idolizes The Great Prince, but at first the elder deer is standoffish and confused about parenting. Only through observing the follies of his offspring does he diagnose and correct his own misgivings. The adventure never relents for a moment, and is nicely undergirded by some beautiful Disney songs that will melt your heart.

The magic of Blu-ray has never been more apparent than it is with Bambi and Bambi II. In much the same vein as the recreationists achieved with Tron Classic, the designers have restored both Bambi films to breathtaking clarity and style. This is truly animation at its finest. The Blu-ray discs include interactive games, drawing lessons and surprising facts about the movies. Cherish technology on this day because it has brought back two wonderful classics for families to live and relive together.
