Tangled Ever After (A Film Short)

Tangled Ever After is a brilliant film short though it is a little derivative of Scrat (a spin-off based on the prehistoric squirrel from Ice Age). Both shorts rely on humor from accidents and clumsiness and comical near misses. Nevertheless, Tangled Ever After brings back a full complement of characters from its source (the original Tangled starring Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi). Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are on the alter going through the very public and very drawn out motions of the royal marriage ceremony. Somehow, their humble steed and their Mr. Froggy (apparently I forgot about the Chameleon from the original production. I confused him for a frog, and for that I owe a debt of gratitude to one of my readers that studiously pointed out this misjudgment) manage to lose the wedding rings mid-ceremony. Nobody seems to notice as they are enthralled by the bride and her dashing leading man. The horse and the chameleon go through twists and turns and misfires and suffer from poor Lady Luck's mischievous ways. As they attempt a daring and death-defying rescue of the royal rings, their lives (and bodies) are turned upside down and inside out to our hearts' delight. Almost every second is ironic, full of slapstick, and is marvelous good fun. Two rings up for this Oscar worthy film short.
