Favre played for 16 years in Green Bay and only had one losing season. Aaron Rodgers has been their starting quarterback with a talented roster and went 6-10 in his first year with the Pack. Out of three seasons head coach Mike McCarthy holds a record of 27-21. His decision to oust Favre after 16 seasons showed that the NFL is a business and anything magical that happens is ephemeral at best, isolated at worst. If Troy Aikman or Dan Marino had wanted to return after a four month rest to heal their bodies would the Cowboys or Dolphins have released them and bad-mouthed their hall of fame player after 16 seasons? What could be more classless than General Manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy’s dismissal of Favre? They deserve to lose and Rodger’s attitude and frequent showboating will come back to bite Green Bay as they will not win the division and Brett will be the reason why. Talk about Kismet and Karma, this is it folks. Go Vikings, go Brett!
In other action the Lions have won for the first time since 2007, good for them. Jay Cutler is thriving in Chicago, Kyle Orton is 3-0 in Denver, and the Bengals defeated the Super Bowl champs, the Steelers with only a few seconds on the clock. Brady is back and with a vengeance. He dominated the Falcon’s defense today and has reclaimed his status as one of the best in the world. The Dolphins and the Titans are 0-3, both with anemic offenses.
