Nonetheless, my dislike adds up: Captain Kirk is a sex crazed immature jackass, pardon my French. He should be in therapy. I think he is a bit over the top. Spock, I just plain don’t like in this film, as he comes across as too one-dimensional, and broodish. A good amount of this film was a rip-off of the Star Wars Ice planet, the assembly of fighters in the hanger, and the collection of characters from Mos Isley spaceport on Tatooine. Eric Bana's ship reminded me of the "Event Horizon" in Event Horizon. Simon Pegg's sidekick was an obvious take from Farscape. The black hole idea was a stolen from Farscape.

       Putting criticism aside, this is a fantastic movie. The action, cinematography, cohesion of characters, and story all mesh together so well that you can enjoy every minute of this film. This is perhaps the best Sci Fi re-invention of a TV Series ever. The big question remains, if you can travel back in time, and you wanted to save your wife and son, why not just do it? Eric Bana? Thoughts? It was cool seeing Vulcan turn itself inside out however. So, good call there….
